ANGUILLA, BMI
Hotel
When Malliouhana first opened on a quiet shore of Anguilla in the 1980's it became the new standard-bearer for luxury in the Caribbean. The architecture was lavish, the views to-die-for, the beaches secluded and serene. The spa was huge and the design was the height of elegance for its era. The 55-room hotel featured a lush landscaped ground. The hotel closed and was acquired in 2013.
Project: Design/Build Landscape and Hardscape
Value: $1.5 Million
GBPM Services: Project management for the design/build contractor, MBP, LTD.
The classic Malliouhana Hotel was undergoing a major renovation under new ownership. The landscape and hardscape were in significant disrepair. Working with a limited budget the project team cleaned up the existing landscaping and installed new plantings, much of which was propagated on site. New brick paver walkways were constructed throughout the site. New landscape lighting was designed, supplied, and installed.
